Porter's School Halloween Party

STILL MORE PARTIES, and it isn't even Halloween yet. Today Porter's preschool had their party...

Carving Pumpkins

We carved our pumpkins last night... a little too early I guess, since they are already starting to sag... But we had a great time doing them. I took the boys to Days Farms to pick out pumpkins, and of course, Porter had to pick the biggest one he could find. It ended up being the perfect pumpkin for Chad's design. I carved a little one, and was glad i did. My pumpkin was done long before the boys'. Funny, I guess the more time you spend carving the better they look... Who would have known? Chad worked all night on his master piece, but I have to admit it was worth the time. It was awesome!!

Chad you win this contest... But just wait until Easter.

Roc slept while we carved... Thank goodness, since it would have been hard to carve a pumpkin while holding him!

Mom's Pirate Party

Okay, First of all can I say I have the coolest Mom ever?? Every year she plans a Halloween party for all of us that is soooo fun. This year we all came as pirates. When we first arrived we were told not to go in the kitchen, because we were going to have a mystery dinner. Once everyone arrived we were shown our seats, and our names for the night. I was Angelina Dread. My mom found our names on the Internet. She found a web site that if you type your name in, it gives you your pirate name. When she typed Trace in... She got Edward Pooped. As many of you know - that fits him pretty darn good. She added "in 'em" to it, and it was just perfect!
Dinner sounded like this: Sea Turtle nuggets (Chili) or Cultured Sow Belly (Potato Soup). Served with Salmagundi and sauce (Salad) or Pirates Teeth with Crocodile (Mac and Cheese with Hot Dogs). There were many things on the menu, but when ordered we had no idea what we might end up with. Everything tasted much better than it sounded.
After dinner we started a treasure hunt. All of the clues were pretty clever, and they had us all trying to figure them out. At the end of the treasure hunt, the kids had to dig to find the hidden treasure!
After a fun night of eating dinner and searching for treasure, we played more games. Thanks so much mom for such a great night. I love Halloween!

Amy's Halloween Party

Amy and Anna always have a great Halloween party. This year was no exception. We had pizza, salad, and lots of treats to eat, played games, and enjoyed seeing everyone in fun costumes. Brian and Alissa were a witch and spider man, Cory and Maria were a family of peguins, and Chad and I were a trucker and his latest waitress fling. The kids were all their costumes too, but everyone was having too much for pictures.

Pumpkin Walk

Last thursday we went to Syracuse's Pumpkin walk. Janet, Amy, Maria, Brian, and I, all took the kids for a night out while the husbands were busy. (Chad was working, and bummed because he loves the pumpkins.) It was a little cold, but the kids did great... and I am not kidding... There are some amazing pumpkin carvers out there! It's always a fun way to get ready for our own pumpkin carving! (Helps us aspire to be better than we are:)!)

Chuck E Cheese Party

Happy Birthday again to Porter. On Tuesday we continued the birthday celebration with his Chuck E Cheese party. Porter and Preslie have been able to share their friends parties for the past couple of years... and Porter loves it! This year we decided to let them invite all their neighborhood friends to Chuck E Cheeses. It was so fun. All of the kids were well behaved (wild, but still well behaved), and I think they all had a ball. We ate Pizza and cupcakes, played all the games we could, and spent their tickets on a bunch of cheap worthless stuff... There was 13 kids in all, and we managed to keep them all safe for two hours. Here are all the fun pictures of Porter, Preslie, and their buddies.

Porter's Star Wars Party

Let the Party's begin!! Tonight we celebrated Porters 5th Birthday with both of our families. He wanted a Star Wars party, so I did my best. (I've never seen any of the movies, so I was a little lost on what to do). It was fun getting everything ready, and pulling off a fun party.

We ate a yummy dinner, played games, watched a little of the Star Wars Movie, and spent a lot of time just playing around.
We had all the kids dress up as Jedi's, and Princess leia's. They all got their own light sabers and ran around playing all night!

Even Roc was a Jedi... Not the greatest picture of the little guy, but he was really cute in his outfit.

We basically had to bribe porter to blow out his candles, because he was so excited to open his presents. He was spoiled by everyone as normal. Grandma and Grandpa Hansen were in San Fransico, so they came earlier this week and gave him a remote control Truck that he loves. My mom and dad gave him a "real" bow and arrow, and I had to ask Chad and him 20 times to come up and get ready for bed! He is taking after his dad's love for hunting already!! Audrey, Lexi, and Kenny gave him his Ben 10 watch... He's been asking for one for the past 6 months. Dusty and Kelsey gave him a star wars movie and a cool dinosaur bone sculpture puzzle. Danny and Tash gave him a spiderman blanket and a work book. Trace and Roc got him a Light Saber. Like I said... SPOILED.

Tomorrow Porters school class is celebrating his birthday, and Tuesday we are having his friends party at Chuck E Cheeses. I guess the week long Birthday tradition my family has starts young.

Dusty's Married!!

Yesterday Dusty got married. It was such a fun day. Everything went so good, from the weather to the food, to the company! It was fun to see all of our family and friends, and spend time with everyone. Even my brother Trent was able to be here for Dusty and Kelsey's big day.

Here is a picture of the ceremony... I wish I got a better picture of Dust and Kelsey together, but I didn't. Her dress was so beautiful. They make a great couple, and I am so excited she is finally officially a part of the Garner bunch.

Whats a day in the mountains without Mom taking pictures?? The wedding was up Parley's canyon... It was such a great place! Especially this time of year. The leaves where so pretty.

This is as close to a family picture as we will have for a little while.

Witches night out...

Oh how I love Halloween! One of my "over the top" friends had a witch party on Thursday night... and it was soooo fun. It's so good to have friends who go all out for girl nights. There were so many witches in one place, and everyone was dressed to the T. Thanks Tonia for one fun night!

While I was getting ready, my boys had fun dressing up with my hat... They didn't like being left out.

Field Trip

Last week Porter's preschool class went on a field trip to a pumpkin patch. It sounded like so much fun I decided to take all the boys and join them. Porter loved having his brothers there. Miss Tonia combined all her classes together so even more of Porters friends were there...
The first thing we got to do was a ride on a trailer out to the pumpkin patch to pick out pumpkins.

We learned about different kinds of crops, and what makes them grow. Porter loves things that grow in the garden! One day after going to buy corn from the farmers market, Porter told me that he wants to be the corn boy when he grows up. I talked him into wanting to be a farmer instead... He loves it.
Porter and Trace raising their hands to show they found their pumpkins!
