Heritage Days

With all the excitement of Trace learning to ride a bike, and Chads getting a new bike for Fathers Day, we decided to buy a bike trailer so we could go on family bike rides. It came in handy this weekend for Heritage days. Friday night we went to a free family magic show. Saturday we rode our bikes to the Heritage Day parade... which was really great because we didn't have to worry about any traffic. It was a great parade. The kids got all kinds of stuff. Shirt, stuff animal, chapstick, Frisbee's, Popsicles, and tons of candy! Saturday night we went to the fire work show at the pond where we were able to do a little fishing, before the show started! What a perfect weekend.

Trace on the mini bike!

Out of a garage full of bikes... this one is hands down the favorite. The kids call it the mini bike. All of porter's friends fight over who gets to ride it. Well, guess who learned how to ride the mini bike this weekend? TRACE! He is so funny when he rides it... a little out of control :). But, he is doing soooo good, and he is loving it. Soon we will need to take the training wheels of his bike, and then we will have two mini bikes!!

Mom's Birthday

My mom turned 40 yesterday! :) We celebrated at my house with dinner and a cake! My mom wasn't feeling well - what a bummer on your birthday! But we loved seeing them any way.

Amy's moving to Texas!

Amy, Mike, and the kids loaded everything into a HUGE truck this past weekend and headed off for their new adventure in Texas. It was a sad day (to say the least), but after a few hugs and good byes, they jumped in the car and headed off. They seem really excited for the change, and I *think* I am happy for them. They are coming back in a month, so for now... I am just pretending this is a long vacation. My kids are going to miss Lexi and Kenny so much! It's not really fair to take half their cousins, is it?? We love them, and wish them the best of luck.

Amy and Mike

Let's just say FAIRYTALE! I am so excited for Amy. After a rough few years, she is finally doing exactly what she wants and deserves! She fell in love with Mike in college, and now 9 years later is married to him! I didn't get many pictures at the wedding - too busy with everything else! Here are the few I did get. Amy looked AMAZING... so as soon as she gets pictures from the photographer I'll add a few of her and Mike! It was a great wedding in every way.

Sell

As if this week hasn't been busy enough... we decided to have a punch and cookie sell on Wednesday afternoon. The kids made lots of money! Why do kids love this so much??

Traces Monster Parties

The celebrations started Monday night with our family party. The weather always seems to be a little sticky for Traces party, and this year was no different. (In fact - today is suppose to have a high of 60). We went to the park for a pic nic with both of our families. It was chilly, windy, and even rained a bit. The kids still had fun, and Trace loves being the center of attention!

These are the lego's Trace got from Grandma and Grandpa Hansen! (we are LOVING all the new toy story stuff!)

New Buzz jammies from Pa and Grandma Vicki.

The party continued on Wednesday with a bunch of his friends. We ended up with 13 kids! It's tough to plan a party when the birthday boy wants to invite EVERYONE. We had so much fun making marshmellow monster, and monster puppets, eating monster pizza's, playing monster games, and of course opening WAY too many presents!

Swimming Lessons

The boys had swimming lessons this past week. I thought it would be good to have them both do their lessons in the same week - but they couldn't be at the same time. So for the past week have driven to kaysville two different times per day. Yuck! The good news is... they are both swimming really good. Porter swims all over the pool. He learned all of the strokes (except the arms for the side stroke, and butterfly). They learned to tread water for 1 min.! They also worked on dives. I think this might have been his last session of lessons :).
Trace is doing great too. He past level 2. He's a little nervous in the water, but by the end of the week he could swim the width of the pool by himself!

New diet plan...

I'm saying good bye to my best friend this week...

It's always hard to do.

Good bye junk food - Hello to a healthier life!

To make the goodbye easier, Kriste and I have a new plan. She plans, prepares, and brings me breakfast, lunch, dinner, and two snacks every other day. I do the same the other days for her. Actually - so far has been fantastic. How can you complain when your door bell rings first thing in the morning with this ready for you???

St. George

WE LOVE ST GEORGE!! We were so lucky this past weekend. Grandma and Grandpa Hansen invited the entire Hansen gang to their house down south for the long weekend. Everyone was able to make it, and we had so much fun. We played at lots of parks, ran the midnight 5k, swam, hiked, the boys golfed, the girls shopped, played tennis, lots of Frisbee, lots of splash pads, played games, and made tons of memories. We even got to celebrate Kenny's Birthday while we were there. I can't wait to go again next year! Oh - and thanks to Cory and Maria - we got to sleep in the Casita!!

The big 5k. I'm a little rusty on the running, but none the less we had a blast!

Day one - park #1

Park #3 - I some how don't have pictures from park number 2 :( We call this park the dizzy park- see why??

We had lots of bubble baths in Grandpa's Tub!

Our hike to the Indian art

Day 3 - We went to main street where they have waterfalls, a river, and a cool fountain the kids can play in. Maria and I had sandwiches from 25 main, while the guys were golfing!!

Right before Cory, Maria, Audrey and Shawn had to go home - Steve took ALL of us (except Amy and kids - they had to leave early Monday Morning to get ready for the WEDDING) to Texas road house for dinner. Seriously cool father-in-law!
