Let it be SPRING!!

Can we just start by saying I love spring?? This past week has been so much for us. After a long winter of being stuck inside, spring feels like a gift. And boy did we love our gift of spring weather. I've always said that my favorite climate for the year would be 60-70 degrees 10 months out of the year. I love winter, and snow, and skiing, and sledding... for about 1 month. But I also love summer, swimming, boating, skiing, 4th of July, and hot hot sun... for 1 month (I would be content with our normal summer really). Does this exist anywhere?? Snow from Dec 15th until Jan 15th, 60-70's until July 1-August 1, and the 60-70's again until Dec!
Okay so I know I can't have everything, so for now - We will play as soon as we get up in the morning until the sun goes down at night! Everyday this past week we went to the park. While at the park we had picnics, played on the slides, crossed the monkey bars, ran around crazy with friends, played football, played basketball, and I enjoyed sitting with friends and visiting about everything!
On Friday (After the park, and after playing outside on the tramp) Porters friend Parker invited him over to swim in their pool. Yep, swimming already! He had so much fun.

Friday night we went to hit some balls at the driving range with Brett, Sarah, Hunter, and Sammie.

Then we met up with Chads family for a hot dog roast and more fun outside!

Saturday my dad came and got the boys and took them to Chuck E Cheeses. I am so lucky to have such great parents, who LOVE being Grandma and Grandpa! They had a blast. While they were gone, Chad and I went for a run with Roc. It feels awesome running outside again... In fact, it reminds me why I have liked running the past few years. Saturday night we went to the park and flew kites with Tiff and Jolley and the twins! Cory, Maria, and Audrey joined us at the park for the last bit of day light.

And now, it is cold and rainy... Looks like this cold will be sticking around for the next little while. I'm so glad we have been able to take full advantage of such a wonderful spring week!

Hunting...

Porter is big enough now to go hunting with the boys! The past two Saturdays he spent pheasant hunting with Chad, Cory, Brian, Shawn, Steve, and Ted. Chad is so proud of him. He even "nicked" his first bird by himself! They have so much fun together it cracks me up. Porter has story after story to tell me. The dogs love it too, and do a fantastic job.
After hunting porter saw a bird outside by the tramp, and said to Chad "that bird looks like it is going to get "ground pounded", which apparently means shot off the ground... not in the air! Got to love that kid.

After a lot of walking, hiking, and hunting they even had enough energy for a little fishing!

Trace had a super fun Saturday too. My dad took him to a movie, then to the park, and even brought him back home to his house for his nap. There is nothing cuter than Trace with his "Pa". They are such great buddies!

CABO!!

Well our trip to Cabo has come and gone... Way too quickly may I add! This past weekend Chad and I spent time playing in the sun. Chad's work took us on a long weekend getaway to Cabo for winners circle. We had such a great time. If there is anything better than a vacation with your husband to a hot paradise, it is a vacation to a hot paradise that is paid for by someone else!!! We played hard.

On Friday we rented wave runners and rode out to the famous arch in the ocean... it was so pretty. We watched a bunch of sea lions playing in the water, and laying out on the rocks.

On Saturday we woke up early and headed out for a day deep sea fishing for Marlin. What a fun adventure. We caught two huge fish. Both of them weighed over 150 pounds. It's hard to explain the adrenaline you get seeing this shark looking fish right by your boat. We couldn't bring them into the boat because it is to dangerous if you don't kill it first... The second fish got away... (while I was trying to take my turn reeling it in :() They are so big that it took all three of the boys a few turns each to get the job done, and over 1/2 hour of reeling. The boat ride home was WAY too long, and at that point we were sick of the sun... but what a fun day!

Sunday came too fast, and it was time go home. It's a good thing I had my boys to come home to, or I would have wanted to stay forever!
The boys did good, and my Mom and Dad survived! I am so lucky to have such a great family that I know my kids are more than happy to be with, so Chad and I can go on trips like this.

All of us girls... Lindsay, Sarah, Me, and Mandi

Chad and Brett did Karaoke one night... "Man, I feel like a women". It was hilarious... but they sounded pretty good for a couple of matching geekwads!

THANKS MOM AND DAD, DUST AND KELSEY, AND LOGICA FOR A WEEKEND WE WILL NOT FORGET!
