Soccer

It's soccer time again...

Even Trace is playing this year. They both had games today, and both of them thought they were well enough to play. Porter's doc told us that he shouldn't play because he was worried that the incision could get wet with sweat - but he nor Chad could stand it, so he played a few minutes of his game. I don't know why, but I sure love Soccer Saturdays... Bring on fall!

*Just for fun... notice that in all these pictures trace has his tounge sticking out the side of his mouth!

Surgeries...

As soon as we got home from St. George we had two surgeries scheduled. Trace went in to Primary childrens Thursday to have a hernia repaired. He did great. He was a little loopy waking up from anesthia - but never complained about anything. I kept asking him if he hurt at all, but he never did.

Porter got a mass removed on his neck on Friday at Davis Hospital. He was terrified, but tried to be brave. He has been amazingly heeling as well. I can't believe these two kids just had surgeries. You would never guess... See the next post for evidence!

St. George take 4!

I guess it's pretty clear that we enjoy St. George. This was our 4th trip down south for the year, and we still have one more to look forward to in November. We headed down with Maria and Audrey on Friday and didn't leave until Wednesday. The first few days were a little rough on me and the boys. They were having a hard time listening and were being quite hard to be around. Everything changed come Monday. Life was great again, and our trip finally was the way I had expected. We did all of our favorites, and even tried a few new things out. We went to Jacob Hamblins house, the temple, a new park, and hit the indoor pool. Trace calls it the Frog pool, and asks to go every time we are in St. George. The best way to sum up our trip lots of SWIMMING, and lots of HAMBURGERS. Who can complain about that?
We got Terrible news while we were there. Sunday morning Cory called to tell us that Steve's sister Kathy had had a heart attack, and was in a comma. Things weren't looking good, and everyone was so upset. Kathy passed away Wednesday morning when they took her off life support. The funeral is Tuesday. Kathy was too young to go, and everyone feels we still need her here with us.
I'm sure all post again after the funeral so in the meantime... here are A LOT of picture from our fun week.

Oh, and we saw this... CREEPY.

LION KING!!

Finally - After 7 1/2 months of waiting we got to go see "The Lion King"! It was AMAZING. We had such a fun night with my Dad and Mom, Dusty and Kelsey, and Danny and Tash. We went to a little Italian restaurant in salt lake for dinner, and then to the show. When we got there we found out that our seats just happened to be next to two of our greatest friends - Darren and Kim Scott! Couldn't have been a better night for us! I'm hopping that one day Chad and I can be season ticket holders :). Thanks Mom and Dad for one of the all time best Christmas gifts!

And just 'cuase I love him...

Cowabunga Bay

My dad took all the kids to Cowabunga bay for the day. Danny, Tash, and I all tagged along. You know me - I can't stand to miss out on fun with the kids. Before we went Kriste told me that the best way to describe the place is "Water chaos"... She was right. There is water spraying everywhere. We had fun, but next year we will be back at raging waters!

Ward Campout

After a CRAZY week of fun, doctors appointments, viewings, Enrichment planning, and being mom... The last of the to do list for the week - WARD CAMP OUT. For some reason both my callings at church have to do with party planning. I love them both, but two church functions in one week... a little too much party planning. The good news is the ward camp is over, and it was really fun. The boys love camping!

Jonah 1st Birthday Party

Jonah turned one!! Holy smokes - he is one cute kid! We had fun celebrating his birthday with him on Sunday at Mom and Dad's. The following Thursday we were so lucky and got to keep him for the day. We had a lot of fun playing with him, the kids thought it was so fun to have him around!

Family Reunion in Kanab

My family always loves going to Kanab for the family reunion. Too bad it isn't closer... i might just want to move there! This year was a little more eventful. While driving into Kanab, Brett called and said the news says there is a flash flood warning for the area. Seems like there is often flash flood warnings, and nothing ever happens... NOT THIS TIME. It was raining really hard in the middle of the night - lots of thunder and lighting - windy - and a lot of water. We woke up because our car alarm went off. Chad ran down stairs to see what was going on. He stepped right into a huge puddle of water covering the entire basement of the town home we were staying in. What a mess. Red muddy water was everywhere. Outside the door it was a couple feet deep. It was cool to see the town pull together to help save what they could of peoples homes. By mid morning they had all the drains working again, and everyone was cleaning everything up. We just moved to a different hotel and our vacation went on as planned. We all met up with the boys during the golf tournament - which they won. The kids loved riding in the carts and being with dad and grandpa on the golf course. A little (actually a lot) of rain cant ruin our parade.

Porter took this picture of a road in Kanab after we played golf... The rains stopped quickly, but you can see what a mess the red dirt makes!
