Back to school

You want the truth? Well here it is. I think a full day of school stinks. It's even worse than I was dreading it being. Kindergarten has nothing on first grade... NOTHING! Porter started school this past week. Aside from it still being summer and we are back to school - Porter was sooo excited for 1st grade. He's been trying to convince me that being in school all day was GREAT. You get 3 recess', and you get to eat school lunch... Good thing he pointed those things out! The first week was early out. He was home by 1:15. I did alright. Still missed the kid all day, but survived. This week is ALL day. 7 hours away from home. Things are going down the drain and fast around here. I miss the kid all day, and when he gets home he so exhausted, I spend the rest of the night mad at him. I know I need to ease up on him, but save a little of your well behavior for when you get home please!!

Okay, enough negativity for one post. His teacher seems to be great. I can't wait to start helping at the school so I can meet all of his new friends I hear about everyday. I think one of these days I might spy on him during lunch time - you know like a fly on the wall. :) I love my Porter so much. I just can't believe he is big enough for all this!

Soccer camp

Porter and Jaxson went to soccer camp this past week. Everyday from 9-12. It was hot all week, but it didn't stop these two from learning a lot, and having TOO much fun! Porter loved every minute of camp. The coaches were fantastic with the boys, and kept mixing things up to keep all the kids attention. Porter was lucky and ended up being on team USA for the week long world cup. They had different challenges each day to get extra points for their team. For wacky Wednesday we gave Porter a mohawk. Grandma Vicki gave us all the stuff and a great idea for flag day. Porter was always trying to do everything just right so his team could get every point they possibly could. Guess who won the world cup? TEAM USA! Notice the sweet trophy they won...
All of the coaches came from England and stayed with families from camp for the week. The boys got a huge kick out of their accents. They kept saying "don't fo-get you wa-er bottol, Po-er". Coach Stewart was Porters coach, and he thought Porter was great!! We hope he will get the chance to do another camp next summer.

Another fun weekend at the cabin

We got to spend another night at the cabin last week. This time it was so low key! Just Cory, Maria, Audrey, Grandma, and Grandpa could come with us... but it didn't stop us from having so much fun!!

Carnival

We were so lucky and got to go to Charlie's 1st birthday party. It is always such a treat to go to one of Tiff's party's. She is one of the best party planners I know!! I love it. We had such a blast.

Happy 4th

I love the 4th of July! This year was especially fun because we got to celebrate on the 3rd, 4th, and the 5th. As always, we spent time at the cabin, then to the Davis fireworks. Sunday my Mom and Dad had us over for dinner for my Bday. We made rockets for the kids to launch, and did sparklers. Monday we played on Grandpa's slides, and then we had a fun barbque with a few of our neighbors. Phew - waht a weekend!

HOT... HOT... HOT...

There is nothing quite like St. George in the middle of the summer! Sarah and I decided to take the kids to St. George for a little get away while our hubbies were on a "business" trip in San Diego. We had so much fun playing non stop with the kids, we barely even noticed that it was 109 degrees! We spent all day swimming, swimming, and then a little more swimming. The kids turned into fish while we were there!

We decided it would be more fun to drive together. So we all loaded up into Sarah's mini van. It was really fun making the long drive down together... I wish I could say the same for the way home. There was some road construction just outside of St. George, and it took us 2 1/2 hours to get to Cedar! Yuck. But really the kids did great - it was me that had rough ride home...

More fun times in St. George!
