Porters Jump

Pirates Cove

Another Fun filled week at Pirates Cove has come and gone. This place is the perfect vacations for kids. We play in the pools all day, and all night! I think the kids probably went down the water slides 10,000 times.

One of my favorite things is to see how much the kids improve their swimming over the week. Trace was scared to death of everything the first day, and by the last day he was swimming with his face in the water, floating in his life jacket, jumping off the side of the pool, and even going to down the slide! Porter never fails to surprise me with his bravery. He jumped off the waterfall, then the rock above the waterfall, and he even jumped off the pirates ship (which is really high). He learned to dive, and is a more confident swimmer then he was at the first of the week too!

This year was especially fun for me, because my mom and dad got to come with us. It was so nice having them there to help with the kids. I love watching them play with the boys.

Wasatch Back Relay

Well we did it. Chad and I decided to give the Wasatch back a try this year with a bunch of our friends from the neighborhood. After 2 full days of running, driving, laughing, pucking, eating, crying, screaming, joking, playing, and not very much sleeping (less than 2 hours to be exact)... I can say: I LOVED IT. I hope that we can do it again next year. It was hard, and totally exhausting, but I am so grateful for all the fun memories. Chad got really sick the first day. We joke that he made 2 rookie mistakes. First lesson learned: Don't take an Imodium before the race. Second: Don't drink a super carbonated energy drink as a recovery drink!! After a lot of pucking, and feeling so crappy, and still having to run his legs, I hope I can talk him into another race!!

GO TEAM FUSION!

Swimming Lessons

Porter wasn't excited for swimming lessons this year. He told me that we already knows how to swim, and that he "wasn't going to take lessons".

I guess Porter isn't the boss!!

After he got in and started swimming he was fine, and actually had fun. His teachers name was Jason, and we was great with him. We are having one more week of lessons in July with Porter and Trace.

Miss Syracuse

Last Saturday was the Miss Syracuse Pageant. I was able to be on the committee again this year (this was my third year), and help get everything ready. My good friend Marla agreed to be the Director this year, so I ended up be a little more invovled during the whole process. After many hours of planning and preparing, we were very happy with the final show. I hope I can talk Chad into letting me help again next year... :)!

Trace is 3! Friends Party

REALLY?? RAIN AGAIN!! Kind of makes me want to stomp my feet and throw a fit! But instead I put on my happy face and switched plans for another inside BUG party. We had a hard time deciding who to invite, so we ended up with a party of 11! All of the kids did so good, and I'm pretty sure everyone had a great time. Trace shares a Birthday with his friend Luci, so we were lucky enough to combine them this year! I'm glad to have this over with, but we had a great time!

How in the world are we suppose to have BUG BLAST inside?? Hopefully there aren't any bugs to find in the house! But as Mother Nature would have it... this year our bug blast has to be inside. We made due... Everything was fun, and Trace loved being the center of attention!

St George Extravaganza 2009!

Our neighborhood friends started a new tradition this year... ST GEORGE EXTRAVAGANZA. We had such a great time with all of them. We really hope it becomes a yearly tradition. The weekend was planned from sun up to sun down. The agenda went like this.

Friday: Boys play GOLF at Green Springs.
Meet at Pool after lunch to swim.
Meet at Ivins Park for the Whisperwood Reunion with dinner.
Girls midnight 5K race.

Saturday: Girls meet at spa. Then lunch and shopping.
Meet at Pool after lunch to swim.
Meet at Park with dinner for our fiesta.
Head to Fiesta Fun Center.
Boys play tennis.

We stayed on schedule for the most part... The kids never wanted to leave the pool... so it ended up being rush from swimming, home to change, and then straight to the park! Everything was so much fun.

The Families Involved:

Miles, Calls, Darts, Davis', Sandalls, Scotts, Markers, and Us.

$0.10

Porter has been begging to have a "lemonade" stand, so today was the day. We went to the store bought some Koolade, and some otter pops, and set up shop. Porter and Trace had a blast pouring drinks for their friends. They had lots of customers, and everyone asked them if they would be out again tomorrow. One kid bought 20 otter pops from them!
