Cancun

I.Love.Mexico! We just spent 4 days in Cancun thanks to Chads work. Every year Chad has the chance to earn a trip for the both of us, and this year he made the goal!!! This year was extra fun because it ended up just being us and the Garners. What a perfect excuse for the four of us to get away together.

We left on Saturday morning. When we got there it was warm, but started getting windy pretty soon after. Little did we know the weather was taking a turn for the worst... and not just for that night. Sunday was rainy, overcast and worst of all COLD. We got to go for a quick dive in the morning, but it was windy - Chad got major sea sick on the boat ride out to the reef. We enjoyed the dive, but Chad couldn't stop throwing up after the one dive, so we gave up on our second dive. That afternoon the rains came... and came... and came. We enjoyed the relaxing time in our hotel. After the rain stopped, we headed out to the mall for dinner and a little browsing. Luckily we were able to get a lot of games in that night!

Monday was a little nicer, but still cool. We went to the Isle of Mujeras for a little snorkeling. We rented a little scooter and cruised around the island for the day... The island is really small, and reminded Chad of parts of his mission. Little hunts or more like shacks they call home. Pretty sad to see how some of these people live... makes me even more grateful for everything I have.
That night Brett took us to Ruth Chris to celebrate work... YUMMY. Best steak of our lives, and lets not forget the warm bread, potatoes, and cheesecake!

Tuesday was PERFECT weather. The sun was shinning, it was nice and warm, and there was a slight breeze. Sarah and I laid out on the beach while the boys played like little boys in the ocean. Oh, and the ocean, BEAUTIFUL! The water was so green, and pretty warm. Of course the weather was the best the day we had to leave.

Favorites from the trip:
Our card for our room kept getting deactivated. They kept asking if it had been around a magnet, and we kept telling them it hadn't. Finally one night chad was emptying his pocket saying that there was nothing magnetic in them. Then he said that the only thing in his pocket was this magnet :). Who would have guessed that the magnet was magnetic? Love my honey...
Miami Vice's
Ice cream - even though the ice cream scooper didn't like me and Sarah. We never could figure out what we did wrong.
Cards - Girls kicked butt... I'm sure the boys will be wanting come back games soon. We played a little hold'em with starbursts too!
Steak Taco's - I'm making them for dinner tonight because I'm missing them!
Fun with our best friends!

I'm keeping my figures crossed for another trip in 2011...
